I was diagnosed with Lupus on October 18th of this year. I threw the biggest pity party in the world. The only thing I heard my doctor say was I’m gonna die and go blind before i die. That’s not what the Dr. Said but that’s what I heard. I’ve only had one person in my family who had Lupus and she died after a 20 year battle. She was in her late 30s and I felt the same thing would happen to me. A few days after receiving what I thought was bad news I reached out to my friend, Angel, who is a life coach. I needed some words of encouragement and she is always very positive. She immediately referred me to her friend Lorena for support. She told me Lorena was not only a health coach but also a Lupus survivor for 18 years now. I connected with Lorena right away and set up an appointment. Lorena put together an awesome wellness plan for me that is easy to follow. I went into the changes with an open mind. I’ve been in pain since March so I was willing to make whatever changes necessary to heal. I changed my diet to include more fruits and veggies. I’ve eliminated fast food from my diet and I’ve been feeling much lighter. Lorena is helping me to read food label and become more conscious of the chemicals in certain foods that are harmful. The key to this healing process is being accountable and “coachable”. I came to Lorena wanting to be healed and she has been guiding me every step of the way. Today we did yoga and deep breathing which have allowed me to not focus on the pain. My body feels more relaxed and my mind is clear. I feel a sense of control that I haven’t felt in months. I grateful for Lorena’s support on this journey. I’m confident that I can not just survive but thrive with this. I can’t wait to see what the next 30 days bring. I feel like I’ve already won. With her guidance and my determination sky is the limit. Thanks Lorena!
